Working Hard

November 4th, 2011 by Gina Devoe

Planning a wedding can be very tough but can also be very enjoying. Why enjoying? Since, you can meet other wedding vendors that will sell their selves and find the right wedding gown for you as well as the right photographer and videographer for your wedding and etc. It can be tough because it is very challenging you will be able to spend more time finding and all the information you need to know about the wedding details and wedding vendors. I remember those times when I was planning my wedding, me and my now husband really worked hard to achieve what we want.

Hairy Thing

November 1st, 2011 by Gina Devoe

Will you change your hair’s color or dye your hair on your big day? Will you allow your groom to have his facial hair and long hair on your big day too? For me, the changing of color isn’t necessary. I will just stay with my hair color which is dark brown on my wedding day. Many people would ask me if I dyed my hair then I would just smile and say no this is my natural color.  Since dying of hair is popular in our place most of them dyed their hair. On the other hand, my now husband on our wedding wasn’t hairy so no problem at all in what hairstyle he wants even if he had long hair or mustache, I wouldn’t mind.

Girls Just Want to Have Fun

November 1st, 2011 by Gina Devoe

After going to church, me my husband and a couple of friends went on a restaurant to eat and enjoy some bonding with our friends. One of our friends who is a couple are planning to get married this December. The boys are really excited and planned to go to a beach resort to have a bachelor’s party. Of course, we the girls were also excited to plan our bridal party for our friend. We decided we will stay in a place where the bride-to-be can relax and enjoy her last days as a single woman. If boys want to have fun celebrating the last single days of the groom-to-be, girls also wants to have fun!

Bachelor’s Party

October 31st, 2011 by Gina Devoe

We were talking about the wedding of our friend that will take hold this December. We were in a restaurant and eating while suddenly our guy friend suggested to the groom-to-be that they will have their groom’s bachelor party in a beach resort. I suddenly bumped into this article that the men can also do some fun ways to enjoy the last single days of the groom-to-be. I think all mean gets excited when they have some fun before the actual wedding. I guess the bride and the girls are also having fun on the bridal shower.

Hottest Thanks!

October 30th, 2011 by Gina Devoe

Wedding etiquette has always been done to show how much the bride and the groom appreciates everyone who helped and who was there on their wedding day. After the wedding, it always nice to send a thank you note to the sponsors and to the entire guest who attended and who brought gifts for the couple. I really love one of this favors or thank you give away to every guest in the wedding. They made it hot and really nice, since it was a hot cocoa powder wrapped with a thank you note in it. It was warm and a hot thank you to the guest.

Twig Vases

October 29th, 2011 by Gina Devoe

I love vases with flowers so in my wedding I decided that I will have a wedding that has many different flowers all around. My reception tables were filled with flowers placed in a vase. But nothing beats the article that I have read. It has DIY vases and different styles for different wedding style. What I love the most was the twig vase, pretty obvious in my title, hehehe.. I swear it caught my attention. And if you are also having an eco-friendly wedding then the twig vase is great for you which is also a great way to spend time with your fiancé in picking the twigs in the backyard.  You can have handmade flowers too for a eco-friendly wedding day.

Confessions of a Homebody

October 28th, 2011 by Gina Devoe

I am a homebody. I’d rather saty hone than being in a crowd at night. I don’t really like crowded places and I was to enjoy being at home enjoying the whole time. I can do anything at home like cleaning and keeping it in order plus I also got the chance to do my DIY invitations for my wedding. On my wedding preparation, my fiancé and I  was always at home and doing my DIY invitations for our  wedding day. We enjoy this time. But don’t get me wrong we were also going out but not at night time. We prefer to keep ourselves relaxed and sleep at the right time and right sleeping hours as days are nearing to our wedding day. We sure don’t want to look haggard on our wedding day.

Procrastination Has to Stop

October 23rd, 2011 by Gina Devoe

I have observed that I have the attitude of leaving a task later and then forgetting it. When the time comes that I can remember then that is the time I would make the task. And worst is forgetting it totally. Like for example, in my wedding planning I have procrastinated the need and the importance of wedding invitation sent on an early month or 2 months before the wedding. As a result, it was too late to RSVP. The reserved seats for guests were left empty and the payment we made was already for good. Anyways, we spent much money then it was gone for just like that. That I learned never to procrastinate again but if it happens I have my mini notebook to keep me alarmed that I need to do something before a certain consequence will happen.

My Style

October 22nd, 2011 by Gina Devoe

I’m sure that you have already had in mind what part of the day you would want to be married- morning, afternoon or evening. Even before I was not engaged with my now husband, I was always wanting to have a dinner reception and everyone would be glad because it’s a buffet style! Fooooodd!!!! Everybody loves food! I love food and my husband also loves food and we both share a common interest. When we got engaged and into our wedding planning we both wanted to have a buffet style wedding reception. But of course guest were limited so that everyone can enjoy the food that was served at our wedding day! Would you choose a buffet style reception and have limited number of guests?

Sister of the Bride

October 21st, 2011 by Gina Devoe

If my sister is getting married I would be very excited about it. I am the youngest among our siblings and we are 4 in the siblings, two boys and two girls. As I’ve said I am the youngest of them all I was the second one to get married. My brother who was the third child was the first to get married, then I followed then our eldest brother got married. If you can figure it out, yes, my elder sister is not yet married. And I am the sister of the bride to be. I would really be happy for her being married really soon. But the problem is she has no boyfriend yet. Anyway, I would just want to relate my situation to the article that I read that she was jealous of her sister getting married first. Well, I don’t know if my sister got jealous when I married but all I can say is she was not happy at first. But when the wedding was near she accepted the fact that her little sister is no longer little but will be soon a wife. Maybe there will be jealousy but it can never replace the love of a sister for her sister.

Spend Time With Your Husband/Wife

October 20th, 2011 by Gina Devoe

Love is a very sweet smelling word. But how do you keep your love tank fuel filled when you both are working full time and only have a little time to spend with each other. Me and my husband have already discussed this thing ever since when we got married. We want to spend each moment together as much as possible because life is too short and we need to keep each day memorable and wisely spent with our loved ones. But if you are working full time you can still make it up with your partner. By leaving sweet notes that he/she will read on the end of the day, baking him his favorite cookies or leaving sweet stuff for him/her like chocolates. Me and my husband never fail to leave sweet messages and sweet stuff to each other. Don’t leave your love life empty tank but keep it filled with love.

Shall I Give Them Wedding Gift?

October 15th, 2011 by Gina Devoe

There is a bugling question that I read in one article about giving wedding gifts. Her aunt emailed her the wedding gift registry of her son’s upcoming wedding but she wasn’t even invited to the actual wedding. For me that was offending about her aunt sent her an email about wedding gifts without inviting them first. That’s awkward, anyway usually the invitation is sent first before the wedding registry is sent to the guests. If you were not invited then a simple card may do rather than a gift from the wedding registry. Perhaps her aunt has mistakenly sent the email to another person. Well, mistakes can happen.

To Cake or Not?

October 14th, 2011 by Gina Devoe

Today, we have cupcakes or what we seldom call mini cakes. In weddings, traditionally we celebrate weddings with wedding cakes but modern times wedding cakes are not really necessary. Instead of a big cake, cupcakes have taken its place in the cake table. But the question is how will they slice when all they have is a cute and mini cupcake? Well that’s easy; no knife is needed at all. All they have to do is to put it on their partner’s mouth and he/she will bite it. Do you still want a wedding cake on your wedding day or would you opt for cupcakes?

Barn to Love

October 12th, 2011 by Gina Devoe

If you have grown up in a farm or you own a farm then chances are you’d most likely be married in a barn setting. That’s just my assumption but you can always get married where you want. But for this young lady she prefers to get married in a barn. She had grown up in a farm and that’s the reason why she wants a wedding in a barn setting. If I’m not mistaken Reese Witherspoon had been married on a barn. Barn setting is also a great wedding venue if you are fond of a farm life, poultry animals, pigs, cows, goats and other animals. Lots of bride would choose a barn wedding than a hotel wedding. so why not have a barn wedding for a simple and fun way of celebrating your wedding.

Fortune Cookies!

October 9th, 2011 by Gina Devoe

Fortune cookies are delightful Chinese style. I love the way it makes me smile when I crack the cookie and read the line that was meant for me. Although I don’t believe in fortune I just love the way I read something that is surprising. And to me surprises are great and I love surprises! But what if your fiance surprised you in a fortune cookie that says will you marry me? Will you say yes? Weeee, for a person like me I would really say yes and hug him so tight! I think that is the most wonderful surprise I ever had in my life. Have s great day!

Don’t Forget Them!

October 8th, 2011 by Gina Devoe

Hi there, wedding planning is really draining and sometimes it makes you stressed out. And sometimes you forget important things for your own self on your wedding day. I remember the time that I was busy preparing for all the things in my wedding day that I forgot to think about my own wedding dress and accessories and now I forgot to find my veil which turned out a veil fail. Anyway, please don’t neglect yourself on your own wedding. Let your maid of honor help you in preparing your wedding details but please don’t forget your wedding accessories and beauty makeup and kit. And you’ll have a happy wedding day ahead of you!

Wedding Magazines

October 7th, 2011 by Gina Devoe

Wedding magazines are really great help when planning weddings but it wouldn’t help if you yourself is a heavy fan of wedding magazines. It can cost so much when you are addicted in buying it whenever you visit or stop by a book shop. I had also experience the addiction to a certain magazine when I was young (oh no, you might think I’m super old which by the way I’m still in my early 20’s to be safe..hehehe). so there I was spending my money on a collection of magazines where in fact I can earn them in my piggybank. But there was one time that I had to finally give up my addiction in collecting those magazines. So here I am free of the addiction of collecting magazines. Do you have any collection during your wedding planning that was irresistible to say no?

Wedding Guest Faux Pas

October 6th, 2011 by Gina Devoe

I think one of the most irritating part for the wedding planner or perhaps the bride or the groom is when the guests don’t do RSVP and also the portion where they bring another uninvited friends, or their children. RSVPs are certainly important and it can save enough money if you know exactly who are coming and who aren’t. This is not only for the bride and the groom but it can apply for us who will be attending their wedding. if you have been formally invited please it is an etiquette to respond ahead of time before the deadline and not only that be open to kindly ask to bring a friend before the wedding and not on the wedding itself. Think about putting your feet on their shoes and you will exactly feel the same way the bride and groom do. Save yourself from these avoidable situations.

Something Borrowed

October 5th, 2011 by Gina Devoe

Do you have something borrowed on your wedding day? Like bridal gown that your momma wore on her wedding day or perhaps your elder sister who got married last 2 years ago? Or perhaps the hair clip, garter that your friend wore on her wedding day? Whatever that is it’s definitely “IT” for your wedding day. Almost all of the bride have something borrowed for their wedding day. I have something borrowed from my mother and that was her wedding hair clip which she treasured and wanted her little girl to wear on her wedding day. And yes I did wore it on my wedding day and made my mother’s wishes come true.

Your Wedding Bracelet

October 2nd, 2011 by Gina Devoe

I have never even thought of having a bracelet on my hand although I’d love to have wedding bracelet. If you think that a wedding bracelet is a great accessory for your wedding day then it’ll be definitely a match for you and your wedding gown. As for me, I chose not to wear any bangles and accessory on my wedding day aside from a pair of earrings which I bought on a fancy store. It didn’t cost me that much because it was only fancy but it didn’t really looked that fancy. Some brides prefer not to wear any accessories aside from a pair of earrings which I really loved because it brought the simplicity of the bride but if simplicity won’t work for you then bring out the hottest bride in the world on your wedding day!
