Bride Wars

November 20th, 2011 by Gina Devoe

Have you seen the movie of Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway’s Bride’s wars? Anne and Kate were best friends, it was really funny and the reason why they had bridal war because they were both wedding fanatic and when their boyfriends asked their hands in marriage they set the most important date. And the date was exactly the same with each other. They didn’t want to change the date and that started the war between the two best friends. Have you experienced yourself comparing with other bride? Yes of course that’s normal but getting into a fight isn’t normal. When you find yourself in the situation of Anne and Kate, communicate well and talk about what is the best for you and your fiance and for you as best friends. Communication is the main problem of Anne and Kate in the movie.

Nesting

November 20th, 2011 by Gina Devoe

Hmm, Nesting is a place where the birds spawn and take rest and also the place where to nurse baby birds. When a bird is to give birth they build up their nest where they would take care of their baby birds. The same with that with human, before we get married we make sure we have somewhere we can nest or a place of shelter to relax and to live. If you are getting married, getting a house first is your priority, or setting your home where you will build your family is important. As important it is to the birds and baby birds, same with that with us humans and our family.

STD’s

November 19th, 2011 by Gina Devoe

STD, yes STD! if you are thinking about the medical term- Sexually Transmitted Disease, it is not it. STD is a short term for Save The Date. Save the date can be in a form of post cards or magnet type. This is given to the guests for them to remember or aware them of your wedding in the near future and inform them that they are formally invited as your guests. In wedding time frame, it is given to the guests several months before the wedding. Approximately, it is advised to send them to your guests 4 months before the actual date. After a week or depending on the place, phone your guests if they have received the save the dates to aware them and also check if they are available on that day. Have a happy wedding day ahead!

Wacky Wedding Party Dance

November 18th, 2011 by Gina Devoe

Today, modern weddings are the new hottest trends in weddings. Trends like where the bride, the groom, the bridesmaids, the grooms and other members of the wedding party does something so unusual but fun and makes the guests and people happy. Also, it keeps the wedding memorable and worth remembering to everyone who attended that wedding. like for this one wedding that was I think unique because the groom and all of his groomsmen during the wedding party’s entrance had dress up like a WWF. I have here below the video of the wedding entrance.

Can You Invite Me On your Wedding?

November 17th, 2011 by Gina Devoe

I’ve been wanting to hide from people who aren’t invited on our wedding bad sadly I can’t hide from everyone of them and so does my groom. I’m so afraid that they will ask if they could be invited on our wedding day. But when things happen like what I imagine to happen, I already prepare myself for the battle.hehe.. When they asked me about inviting them on their wedding, I think I have to explain to them the simplicity of my wedding and how limited the guests are due to our tight budget. And when I explain these things to them they understood and gave me their warmest best wishes on my wedding and married life.

Let There Be Light!

November 13th, 2011 by Gina Devoe

Weddings have become so wonderful with decorations. Decorations bring meaning to life and not only has that it brought life to the venue. I believe that with proper lighting and materials for decorations it will create a wonderful ambiance. I have bumped into a beautiful wedding article that has so many ideas on DIY lighting ideas. One of my favorite form the DIY lightings was the Sparkle Light Board. The sparkle light board is easy to make and a great decoration and lightings in every part of the wedding venue or perhaps can be great on your sweet corner or wedding favors. I think it would be great on your wedding cake area.

Wedding Decoration is Essential

November 12th, 2011 by Gina Devoe

What add beauty to the wedding ambiance are its decorations. Decorations such as flowers, favors, candles, paper flowers, silk, fabric, lighting and other decorations. Decorations are essential in weddings. When you set a wedding table you never leave it empty but filled with decorations. During my wedding I have put a lot of flowers and floral centerpieces in each table so that it will create a nice ambiance. Flowers add a wonderful ambiance plus a romantic atmosphere in the wedding. Candles also add lightings but be careful with candles because they can start up unwanted fire. Make sure you place candles with water surrounding it. For me the nicest decoration seen is a floating candle in a pond.

Short Hair

November 10th, 2011 by Gina Devoe

Do you have a short hair and are you getting married soon? Did you regret having it cut into short? well for me I did and had short hair on my wedding day. But my hair style looks like as if I have a long hair. My stylist made my hair look longer by the way she did my hair. No need to worry if you have short hair on your wedding day because you have so many ways for your hair to look longer. First you can add a wig or an extension.  Hair extensions are great but I heard it hurts when it is implanted on your scalp. A wig can be a good choice over hair extensions. And also your stylist can help your create the hair do that you want to have on your wedding day.

Well and Balanced

November 6th, 2011 by Gina Devoe

During my wedding planning I have not been eating well and sometimes I skip meals because I’m running out of time to do some important stuff. Considering that my wedding preparation was only for five months, it was squeezed into a very limited time. My mother who was very concerned told me a story of a groom who was not eating well also on his wedding preparation and on his wedding day he fainted out. It was true, he fainted not because he don’t want to get married but he fainted because he was so tired and stressed out from all the planning. I guess I really needed to take care of my body during the wedding preparation even my time is limited. Health is always wealth and should always be our priority.

Working Hard

November 4th, 2011 by Gina Devoe

Planning a wedding can be very tough but can also be very enjoying. Why enjoying? Since, you can meet other wedding vendors that will sell their selves and find the right wedding gown for you as well as the right photographer and videographer for your wedding and etc. It can be tough because it is very challenging you will be able to spend more time finding and all the information you need to know about the wedding details and wedding vendors. I remember those times when I was planning my wedding, me and my now husband really worked hard to achieve what we want.

Hairy Thing

November 1st, 2011 by Gina Devoe

Will you change your hair’s color or dye your hair on your big day? Will you allow your groom to have his facial hair and long hair on your big day too? For me, the changing of color isn’t necessary. I will just stay with my hair color which is dark brown on my wedding day. Many people would ask me if I dyed my hair then I would just smile and say no this is my natural color.  Since dying of hair is popular in our place most of them dyed their hair. On the other hand, my now husband on our wedding wasn’t hairy so no problem at all in what hairstyle he wants even if he had long hair or mustache, I wouldn’t mind.

Girls Just Want to Have Fun

November 1st, 2011 by Gina Devoe

After going to church, me my husband and a couple of friends went on a restaurant to eat and enjoy some bonding with our friends. One of our friends who is a couple are planning to get married this December. The boys are really excited and planned to go to a beach resort to have a bachelor’s party. Of course, we the girls were also excited to plan our bridal party for our friend. We decided we will stay in a place where the bride-to-be can relax and enjoy her last days as a single woman. If boys want to have fun celebrating the last single days of the groom-to-be, girls also wants to have fun!

October 31st, 2011 by Gina Devoe

We were talking about the wedding of our friend that will take hold this December. We were in a restaurant and eating while suddenly our guy friend suggested to the groom-to-be that they will have their groom’s bachelor party in a beach resort. I suddenly bumped into this article that the men can also do some fun ways to enjoy the last single days of the groom-to-be. I think all mean gets excited when they have some fun before the actual wedding. I guess the bride and the girls are also having fun on the bridal shower.

Hottest Thanks!

October 30th, 2011 by Gina Devoe

Wedding etiquette has always been done to show how much the bride and the groom appreciates everyone who helped and who was there on their wedding day. After the wedding, it always nice to send a thank you note to the sponsors and to the entire guest who attended and who brought gifts for the couple. I really love one of this favors or thank you give away to every guest in the wedding. They made it hot and really nice, since it was a hot cocoa powder wrapped with a thank you note in it. It was warm and a hot thank you to the guest.

Twig Vases

October 29th, 2011 by Gina Devoe

I love vases with flowers so in my wedding I decided that I will have a wedding that has many different flowers all around. My reception tables were filled with flowers placed in a vase. But nothing beats the article that I have read. It has DIY vases and different styles for different wedding style. What I love the most was the twig vase, pretty obvious in my title, hehehe.. I swear it caught my attention. And if you are also having an eco-friendly wedding then the twig vase is great for you which is also a great way to spend time with your fiancé in picking the twigs in the backyard.  You can have handmade flowers too for a eco-friendly wedding day.

Confessions of a Homebody

October 28th, 2011 by Gina Devoe

I am a homebody. I’d rather saty hone than being in a crowd at night. I don’t really like crowded places and I was to enjoy being at home enjoying the whole time. I can do anything at home like cleaning and keeping it in order plus I also got the chance to do my DIY invitations for my wedding. On my wedding preparation, my fiancé and I  was always at home and doing my DIY invitations for our  wedding day. We enjoy this time. But don’t get me wrong we were also going out but not at night time. We prefer to keep ourselves relaxed and sleep at the right time and right sleeping hours as days are nearing to our wedding day. We sure don’t want to look haggard on our wedding day.

Procrastination Has to Stop

October 23rd, 2011 by Gina Devoe

I have observed that I have the attitude of leaving a task later and then forgetting it. When the time comes that I can remember then that is the time I would make the task. And worst is forgetting it totally. Like for example, in my wedding planning I have procrastinated the need and the importance of wedding invitation sent on an early month or 2 months before the wedding. As a result, it was too late to RSVP. The reserved seats for guests were left empty and the payment we made was already for good. Anyways, we spent much money then it was gone for just like that. That I learned never to procrastinate again but if it happens I have my mini notebook to keep me alarmed that I need to do something before a certain consequence will happen.

My Style

October 22nd, 2011 by Gina Devoe

I’m sure that you have already had in mind what part of the day you would want to be married- morning, afternoon or evening. Even before I was not engaged with my now husband, I was always wanting to have a dinner reception and everyone would be glad because it’s a buffet style! Fooooodd!!!! Everybody loves food! I love food and my husband also loves food and we both share a common interest. When we got engaged and into our wedding planning we both wanted to have a buffet style wedding reception. But of course guest were limited so that everyone can enjoy the food that was served at our wedding day! Would you choose a buffet style reception and have limited number of guests?

Sister of the Bride

October 21st, 2011 by Gina Devoe

If my sister is getting married I would be very excited about it. I am the youngest among our siblings and we are 4 in the siblings, two boys and two girls. As I’ve said I am the youngest of them all I was the second one to get married. My brother who was the third child was the first to get married, then I followed then our eldest brother got married. If you can figure it out, yes, my elder sister is not yet married. And I am the sister of the bride to be. I would really be happy for her being married really soon. But the problem is she has no boyfriend yet. Anyway, I would just want to relate my situation to the article that I read that she was jealous of her sister getting married first. Well, I don’t know if my sister got jealous when I married but all I can say is she was not happy at first. But when the wedding was near she accepted the fact that her little sister is no longer little but will be soon a wife. Maybe there will be jealousy but it can never replace the love of a sister for her sister.

Spend Time With Your Husband/Wife

October 20th, 2011 by Gina Devoe

Love is a very sweet smelling word. But how do you keep your love tank fuel filled when you both are working full time and only have a little time to spend with each other. Me and my husband have already discussed this thing ever since when we got married. We want to spend each moment together as much as possible because life is too short and we need to keep each day memorable and wisely spent with our loved ones. But if you are working full time you can still make it up with your partner. By leaving sweet notes that he/she will read on the end of the day, baking him his favorite cookies or leaving sweet stuff for him/her like chocolates. Me and my husband never fail to leave sweet messages and sweet stuff to each other. Don’t leave your love life empty tank but keep it filled with love.

Shall I Give Them Wedding Gift?

October 15th, 2011 by Gina Devoe

There is a bugling question that I read in one article about giving wedding gifts. Her aunt emailed her the wedding gift registry of her son’s upcoming wedding but she wasn’t even invited to the actual wedding. For me that was offending about her aunt sent her an email about wedding gifts without inviting them first. That’s awkward, anyway usually the invitation is sent first before the wedding registry is sent to the guests. If you were not invited then a simple card may do rather than a gift from the wedding registry. Perhaps her aunt has mistakenly sent the email to another person. Well, mistakes can happen.

To Cake or Not?

October 14th, 2011 by Gina Devoe

Today, we have cupcakes or what we seldom call mini cakes. In weddings, traditionally we celebrate weddings with wedding cakes but modern times wedding cakes are not really necessary. Instead of a big cake, cupcakes have taken its place in the cake table. But the question is how will they slice when all they have is a cute and mini cupcake? Well that’s easy; no knife is needed at all. All they have to do is to put it on their partner’s mouth and he/she will bite it. Do you still want a wedding cake on your wedding day or would you opt for cupcakes?
