I went to a wedding once where the bride and groom uniquely greeted all of their guests at the wedding party reception. The couple wore this personalized grillmaster plus apron over their wedding gown and tux and as the guest came in, they gave them cake slices. This wasn’t from the wedding cake. The bride and groom specifically had a special one made for this. in lieu of the traditional wedding line, where the bride and groom usually greets guests as they come by the door.
I thought it was rather unique and fun. In fact, I personally commended their wedding coordinator for coming up with such an idea. As it turns out, it was the groom who suggested it, saying that the traditional way of greeting guests made it too basic and forgettable. He was basically looking for something different. He wanted something remarkable or something that would say, “This is our wedding and we’re all going to have fun!” as soon as the guests come in.
There are plenty of other ways to make the receiving line at the wedding less robotic, routine and traditional. Talk it over with your future spouse to come up with something that should really be unforgettable.
