I got inspired just reading this blog on choosing and giving gifts that honor the survivors of breast cancer.  I remember looking at this pink ribbon hankie which is also a good reminder of someone who went through the “big C” and survived. How can anyone resist this all cotton hankie with a delicate pink ribbon and floral design?

To celebrate the Breast Cancer Awareness week last October 2009, even men joined in supporting cancer awareness by putting on pink t-shirts, socks and shoes! Many of these men have mothers, sisters, wives and daughters who are either diagnosed with breast cancer or who had passed on because of the disease. In that blog post I read, I couldn’t agree more that breast cancer awareness gifts are great, not just to make a lasting memory, but also to help improve lives of the women living with cancer.

There are now about 2.4 women diagnosed with and treated for breast cancer. It is the second leading cause of cancer deaths, next to lung cancer.  Most proceeds from Wear It Pink campaigns all over the world go to research to improve diagnosis and cure of breast cancer.

Thinking of a great bridesmaid’s gift? Choose something pink and be part of the worldwide initiative to raise breast cancer awareness.
