I just got done reading this blog post about eloping, and can’t agree more with the author. Hey, I can understand how stressful planning a wedding can be, especially when you’re on a tight budget. But there are other ways to economize other than dumping your wedding plans and heading off to Vegas! For instance, there are gorgeous DIY handmade wedding invitations which are affordable and elegant and at the same time can actually save you some cash.
Eloping means your family and friends won’t be there to share the moment with you. I think it’s quite sad that eloping is sometimes the only choice for most young couples who have their money issues such as college loans. It may work for them, but really they’re missing out on the big event when people who really matter in their lives and who had supported them during difficult times can share the joy of a once in a lifetime event.
As the blog said, when planning a wedding, we can sometimes get sidetracked with all the small details – the venue, the flowers and the gifts, and tend to forget what the special day is all about. It’s about family and friends and sharing a celebration of happiness with them. If you’re considering eloping, give it a lot of thought first and think how much more fulfilling saying your vows with the man you love in front of your family and friends could be.
